Men that download the app are vetted by women, by asking a woman in their life for a referral (mom, sister, grandma, colleague, friend, etc) - the referrer has to provide the user with a 4-digit code that is sent as a text to complete their dating profile.
What’s different about the user experience?
No swiping.
Fate is not a swipe-based dating app, it has a scrolling feed where the user has to completely read their profile before bypassing on to the next person- ego boosting is not welcomed here.
This allows users to spend extra time reviewing a profile before passing on a person - this feature allows everyone a chance to be seen.
This is why, if either party is interested, either user can approve or deny a chat request.
Users will have transparency and show accountability as there will be visibility of users availability to encourage users to meet offline.
Within Fate, there is a dinner reservation tool so that users are encouraged to book quality dates.
These barriers were implemented so that women can have a better dating experience offline and men can bring traditional values into online dating.
